These terms are an agreement between you and Tanmay Gaur, who runs NightOwl PDF from New Delhi, India (“we”). By using nightowlpdf.com you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use NightOwl. How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Policy.

1. What NightOwl is

A PDF editor that runs in your browser: viewing, markup, fill and sign, redaction, OCR, page organisation, compression and court-filing tools. Most of it works without an account. An account adds a free trial and a subscription, and with either you can save documents to it.

2. Your account

• You must be 18 or over, and sign in with an email address you control.
• One account per person.
• You are responsible for what is done through your account, so keep your email and Google account secure. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.

3. Your documents

• Your documents remain yours. We claim no rights in them and handle them only to provide the features you use.
• You must have the right to use the documents you open. Handling them lawfully, and within your professional duties such as client confidentiality, is your responsibility.
• Keep your own copies. Saving to your account is a convenience, not a backup service.

4. Check your work

OCR, straightening, redaction, compression, numbering and the bundle index are tools, and tools can make mistakes: OCR can misread a word. Before you file, send or rely on a document, check it — above all, that redacted content is fully covered and that page numbers and index entries are right. NightOwl does not give legal advice.

5. Plans and the free trial

• Free: free of charge, with no time limit.
• Free trial: fourteen days of everything Professional includes, with 100 high-accuracy OCR pages. Once per person, with no card. When it ends you move to the free plan, and nothing is charged. You can still open, download and delete what you saved; saving more needs a subscription.
• Professional: ₹499 for 30 days, or ₹3,999 for one year, each paid once. It includes 1,000 high-accuracy OCR pages each month, a yearly plan included; unused pages do not carry over. It also includes saving documents to your account, up to 5 GB.
• Page pack: ₹149 for 200 high-accuracy OCR pages, without a subscription. Pages from a pack never expire, and are used only after a subscription's monthly pages.
• We may change features and prices. A new price never applies to a period you have already paid for, and we will tell you before it applies to a renewal.

6. Payments

This section applies to payments made once online payment opens; we will let you know when it does.

• How you pay: through Cashfree Payments, by UPI, card or netbanking. Prices are in Indian rupees and are the whole amount you pay. Card and bank details go to Cashfree and never reach us.
• No automatic renewal: every payment is one-time. A plan runs for the 30 days or the year paid for, then moves to the free plan unless you pay again. Nothing is charged without you choosing to pay; we remind you before a plan ends.
• Delivery: what you buy is added to your account as soon as the payment is confirmed. See Delivery.
• Cancellation and refunds: there is nothing to cancel. A plan or page pack is refunded in full if you ask within 7 days of paying and none of its high-accuracy pages have been used; a payment charged twice, or charged without the plan or pages arriving, is refunded in full. Refunds reach the account or card you paid from within 5 to 7 working days. The details are in Refunds & cancellation.

7. Fair use

Do not:

• use NightOwl for anything unlawful;
• try to get around its security or limits, or overload it;
• open several accounts to get more free trials or pages;
• resell NightOwl or its high-accuracy OCR;
• upload malicious files.

We may suspend or close an account that does, and will tell you why where we are able to.

8. Availability and changes

We work to keep NightOwl running but cannot promise it will never be interrupted. We may change or remove features. If we ever close NightOwl, we will give 30 days' notice so you can download your saved documents.

9. Liability

NightOwl is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profits, lost data or a missed deadline — and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

10. Ending

You can stop using NightOwl at any time, and delete your account yourself from the account menu (Account and subscription → Delete account), or ask us to by writing to [email protected]. We may end these terms with you if you seriously break them.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at New Delhi have exclusive jurisdiction. Please write to us first — most problems can be solved that way.

12. Changes to these terms

We will post any change here with a new date. If a change is significant, we will email you before it takes effect.
