- Recognition starts; follow its progress in Scan & OCR.
- Search, copy, or Download the searchable PDF.
Good to know
- Free OCR is not uploaded: it runs in your browser.
- High-accuracy OCR is different: the page you choose is sent as an image to Google Cloud Vision, only when you ask, and uses a page from your plan.
- Tested with a 520-page, 128 MB scanned bundle on a laptop. Very large files need a computer with enough memory; phones manage less.
Questions
Does OCR make the PDF editable like Word?
It makes the text searchable and copyable. You can correct words and retype paragraphs in NightOwl; it does not convert to Word.
